Pan-fried Salmon Fillet

Ingredients

  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • 1 pre-cut salmon fillet with the skin on (about 120-140g)
  • Lemon for flavour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Drizzle a little olive oil onto a hot pan on medium heat and allow to heat up.
  • Place salmon with the skin-side face down in the pan with the lid on. Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • While the salmon is cooking, you can prepare your choice of salad, as per the accompanying salad recipes (just don’t forget to check on the salmon!)
  • After 3-4 minutes on the first side, turn and cook with the skin-side up for another 3-4 minutes with the lid on.
  • Turn the heat down to low, turn the salmon again, and allow to sit in the pan for another 2 minutes.
  • A little squeeze of lemon and a pinch of salt and pepper over the top and you’re done!

You can cook multiple fillets at once for any additional serves you need to cook up!

You can adjust the cooking time slightly according to how well you like your salmon fillet to be cooked.

Also, if you don’t have a lid for your pan, use some aluminium foil!
